Starting off 2008 the right way!

Never in my life would I have thought that I'd be out on the first Sunday in January riding over 45 miles on an ATV! I'm doing things that surprise myself every day. BUT I'm loving every minute of it. I know that I'm going to come to the point that I can't get out and ride the way I do now. I know that. I honestly think that is why I ride at every chance that I can. I'm making up for all those lost years, and the years to come that I'm forced to sit at home and just wish that I could get out and ride.

Met up Sunday morning at the barn of BCO in Middlesboro Kentucky. Nineteen people were there to ride! There was a total of fifteen ATVs and Side-by-sides. The only ones that I knew already were Terry, Pam & Doug. All the rest were new FRIENDS. The weather man lied.... again. I knew that it wasn't going to be a sunny, pretty day but it was supposed to get warmer than what I thought it was! At times there was a little drizzle of rain. But not enough to even make the poncho's come out for cover.

We rode to two different overlooks. I think the name of the first over look is "The Towers". It overlooks the valley below that runs from Harrogate to Lafollette Tennessee. The wind was HORRIBLE...... and COLD! And needless to say the cloud cover didn't give that much of a view. I want to go back to really see how far you can see someday. After we took a break there for a bite of lunch we headed back down off of that ridge to head over to a place they call "Top of the World" that overlooks the city of Middlesboro Kentucky. Before and in between both overlooks there was some fantastic creeks to play in. I think I'll add the photo of myself that Pam took of me out playing in Tackett Creek. Great place to wash off the ATV and have some fun doing it!

We started out at about 9: 30 that morning and got back to the barn right at 5:00 that evening. I was tired and sore and COLD. But it was worth all that and more to have such a great day out riding, seeing new places and meeting new friends!

Thanks to BCO and everyone else for letting me join in on the fun. Can't wait to do it again!!!
